Maria Kryspina is a Canadian author with Polish and Ukrainian roots. She writes historical fiction based on family stories, old photographs, records, and careful research.Her novel, Broken Moon Promise, tells the story of Olek and Halya, a young Polish farmer and a Ukrainian girl whose lives are brought together during the Second World War in Eastern Galicia.Through their story, she remembers those who lived through war, loss, and exile, and the families who carried those memories into the years that followed.
